Started where security starts — in the server room. Network security architecture, infrastructure design, vulnerability management, disaster recovery. Built security programs from the ground up. Five years, multiple roles, each one closer to the architecture layer.
Cloud security when "cloud security" was still an oxymoron. Security lead on multi-million-dollar cloud transformations. End-to-end security architecture reviews, threat modeling, security risk assessments. Learned to think in patterns, not products.
Led security architecture teams. Developed and executed 3-year cybersecurity strategy. Made decisions on behalf of the CISO. Learned that security is an organizational problem, not a technical one.
